Diverse in political ideals, varied in talents and opinions, Kelab UMNO US East Coast is an association that consists of Malaysian students who are currently studying or have studied in the universities around the US East Coast. 

"We don't care who you think you are or who you support, if you have ideas for Malaysia's future, then join us."



 

 

The main objectives of this association are:

1. To establish a platform whereby students and all likes of Malaysians can find comfort in expressing their opinions and political perspectives. 

2. To debate, critic and analyze policies set at home (no matter government or opposition, no matter US or Malaysian). Frankly, to symbolize the truly democratic state that Malaysia will eventually evolve into.

3. To host the sense of unity amongst Malaysians studying or working overseas. To unite against unfair oppression, unjust laws or immoral perspectives held by any sovereign nation. 





Characteristics That Distinguish Kelab UMNO US East Coast:

Voluntary: Kelab UMNO US East Coast is built solely by voluntarism and initiative. Our cabinet members are not paid, nor are they incentivized materialistically. The actions, ideas and events that come through this organization are made purely of the strive for a more transparent and democratic Malaysia. The primary push that lies behind this group is the empathy for those less fortunate and those demanding a better future. 



Independent: Yea, sure. UMNO is within our name, but that aliniation lies solely in label. As a stage set to emphasize the voices of students and the independent (not mainstream), we see it critical for Kelab UMNO US East Coast to embody the sense of diversity and openness. We aren't restricted to recognize only UMNO political views, in fact we value debate, we value differences in opinions because we recognize that all are based on the drive for a better Malaysian future. 



Not-for-profit: We don't really understand the necessity to advertise our not-for-profit. In fact, if we were for profit, that would be spectacular! But no, the people who make up the cabinets are too overburdened by student debt. We all 'don't have time for that.'
